		<description>AFAIK, the Bakken field contains about 400 billion barrels of oil, but recovering it is problematic.  The porosity of the shale is low, only about 5%, and the oil does not flow though the shale very well.  To make it economically viable, horizontal wells will probably have to be drilled to maximize the &#039;wet&#039; area of the well bore and get sufficient flow rates.  Nevertheless, that much oil would power the US for over 40 years at present consumption rates if it can be extracted reasonably.</description>

		<description>Well, it doesn&#039;t look good does it?  Now that the price of oil has dropped, there will probably be a decrease in oil exploration, and production of drilling rigs.  Didn&#039;t this happen once before in 90&#039;s?  Have you heard of an oil field in the US called the Bakken field?  I heard it is as big as Saudi Arabia&#039;s.</description>
